Reba McEntire has been friends with Dolly Parton for decades, but they never text or send emails for one specific reason.
McEntire shared the surprising detail during "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen" on Wednesday. Cohen asked McEntire about her last text exchange with Parton during the episode.
"Dolly does not text," McEntire said before confirming that Parton doesn't send emails either.
Cohen asked if Parton was reachable by landline, to which McEntire said a fax machine was the only way. Both Cohen and the other guest, Troye Sivan, looked shocked.
"I don't have her telephone number, and I asked Kenny Rogers one time. "I said, 'Do you have Dolly's number?" McEntire said. "He said, 'No.'"
She then joked that perhaps Rogers didn't want to give her Parton's number.
Representatives for Parton did not respond to a request for comment made outside regular business hours.
McEntire and Parton are longtime friends who've cohosted the 2019 CMA Awards alongside Carrie Underwood. In 2011, Parton inducted McEntire into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
The pair have also collaborated on music together, including in October 2021 when Parton appeared on McEntire's song "Does He Love You."

"It's not casual. She took the time to get out, I guess, her typewriter," Cyrus said.
